"What is so brilliant about the gadgets is their simplicity." - Desmond Llewelyn.
"I'm quite enthusiastic about any kind of gadget and app and feature and things that enable me to have a very convenient lifestyle. We buy our groceries on the Internet; I buy furniture, clothes for myself and my kids." - Margrethe Vestager.
A GADGETS is a small tool such as a machine that has a particular function, but is often thought of as a novelty. Gadgets are sometimes referred to as gizmos.
ELECTRONICS comprises the physics, engineering, technology and applications that deal with the emission, flow and control of electrons in vacuum and matter. The identification of the electron in 1897, along with the invention of the vacuum tube, which could amplify and rectify small electrical signals, inaugurated the field of electronics and the electron age.
Electronics deals with electrical circuits that involve active electrical components such as vacuum tubes, transistors, diodes, integrated circuits, optoelectronics, and sensors, associated passive electrical components, and interconnection technologies. Commonly, electronic devices contain circuitry consisting primarily or exclusively of active semiconductors supplemented with passive elements; such a circuit is described as an electronic circuit.
As of 2018 most electronic devices use semiconductor components to perform electron control. The study of semiconductor devices and related technology is considered a branch of solid-state physics, whereas the design and construction of electronic circuits to solve practical problems come under electronics engineering. This article focuses on engineering aspects of electronics.
TECHNOLOGY is the collection of techniques, skills, methods, and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation. Technology can be the knowledge of techniques, processes, and the like, or it can be embedded in machines to allow for operation without detailed knowledge of their workings.

- rabbit r1 - "A pocket companion that moves AI from words to action." A custom-built consumer AI device running on a
revolutionary natural-language operating system. r1 was developed to take a leap towards an app-free online
experience, by introducing an operating system that navigates all of your apps quickly and efficiently so you don’t have
to. r1’s operating system, rabbit OS, is the first OS ever built on Large Action Model (LAM), rabbit’s proprietary foundation
model that can infer and model human actions on computer interfaces by learning users’ intention and behavior when
they use specific apps, and then mimic and perform them both reliably and quickly. rabbit’s unique new r1 device costs
$199, with pre-sales open from today and shipments beginning in late March 2024.
- rabbit r1: Can a striking design set rabbit’s r1 pocket AI apart from a gaggle of virtual assistants? - "The idea behind the $200 r1 is simple: It lets you keep your phone in your pocket when you need to do some simple task like ordering a car to your location, looking up a few places to eat where you’re meeting friends or finding some lodging options for a weekend on the coast. Instead of pulling out your phone, unlocking it, finding the app, opening it and working your way through the UI (so laborious!), you pull out the r1 instead and give it a command in natural language: 'Call an Uber XL to take us to the Museum of Modern Art.' 'Give me a list of five cheap restaurants within a 10-minute walk of there.' 'List the best reviewed cabins for six adults on Airbnb within 10 miles of Seaside, nothing more than $300 a night.' The r1 does as you bid it and a few seconds later provides confirmation and any content you might have requested."
- rabbit r1 is 2024’s most exciting launch yet - "Apple is doing everything it can to make VR happen, but a tiny startup has a better vision of the future."
- Ranking the World’s Fastest (& Slowest) Internet Speeds - "When analyzing the improvement of internet speeds in recent quarters, 2018 was mostly a good year. On a global scale, both download and upload speeds have increased on fixed broadband and mobile. With gigabit services continuing to expand and 5G on the horizon, the internet is an undeniable driving force of every country’s economy and a basic component of modern life."
- Reset Your Computer Once a Year for a Happier Life - "It's easier than ever to restore your Mac, PC, or Chromebook to factory conditions—and you'll be surprised at how much zip it'll add."
- ‘RIGHT TO REPAIR’ LAWS REQUIRE TECHNOLOGY TO LAST FOR A DECADE - "New devices will also have to come with repair manuals and be made in such a way that they can be dismantled using conventional tools. Companies that sell consumer electronics such as refrigerators, washers, hairdryers, or TVs in the European Union - and in the UK - will need to ensure those goods can be repaired for up to 10 years."

The archive was introduced by Laurene Powell Jobs, Jobs’ widow, at Vox Media’s Code conference on Wednesday. 'While we do have some artifacts and some actual real material, the archive is much more about ideas,' she said. According to Powell Jobs, the archive is 'rooted in Steve’s long held notion that once you understand that, outside of the natural world, everything in the built environment and all the systems that govern our life on the planet were built and designed by other humans. Once you have that insight, you understand that you as a human can change it, can prod it, can perhaps, interrogate it and stretch it. In that way, human progress happens.'

- Vampire Straw - "Machined one at the time in the USA out of grade 9 titanium, the Vampire straw is truly a custom made item. The Vampire straw’s dimensions make it the most comfortable straw to use; it’s length and wide gauge allows the user to drink effortlessly any thick shake or smoothie. The Vampire straw is also long enough to drink from any long beverage can. Designed for self defense, the Vampire straw is super tough and long enough to be used like a dagger; it’s chiseled tip is sharp enough to puncture most synthetic materials. The Vampire straw is also a very effective tire deflator, and can be carried in a cup, in public without attracting attention. From a cup, the Vampire straw is very easy to deploy in reverse grip, and put into action almost instantly."
