Physical FITNESS is a general state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities. Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest.
Before the industrial revolution, fitness was defined as the capacity to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue. However, with automation and changes in lifestyles physical fitness is now considered a measure of the body's ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist hypokinetic diseases, and to meet emergency situations.

- Really, Really Short Workouts - The New York Times.
- RED DOOR SPAS (ELIZABETH ARDEN)
- Research Shows That People Who Do Strength Training Live Longer - Start With These 10 Simple Workouts - "While we know that exercising regularly is crucial to overall well-being, it’s important to understand that every exercise offers different benefits. Take cardio, for example - it promotes heart health and boosts circulation. Swimming, on the other hand, is a more low-impact workout that can improve endurance and strengthen and tone your muscles. Strength training is one of the most popular types of fitness that can build muscle mass while also contributing to weight loss. And according to a recent study, it can also help you live longer. Researchers found that people who engaged in strength training one to two times per week had a lower mortality risk compared to those who did not. Ready to start lifting? Here are some trainer-approved workouts to help you get started."

- Running After a Heart Attack - The New York Times.
- Running vs swimming: Which burns more calories? - "We crunched the numbers and the results surprised us. If you tot up the maths, you could burn an estimated 130-400 kcal swimming for 30 minutes versus 189-318 kcal for a run, depending on intensity and speed. There isn’t much in it, but you’d need to put more effort into your swim than your run to yield the same calorie burn. Our verdict? Running and swimming are different exercises with their own range of benefits, but if you're looking to burn calories fast, running might just have the edge over swimming, depending on your effort."
- Running vs. Walking: Which Is Better for Lasting Health? - "They’re both beneficial physically and mentally, but there’s a clear winner. They found that regular five-minute runs extended subjects' life spans as much as going for 15-minute walks did. Regular 25-minute runs and 105-minute walks each resulted in about a 35 percent lower risk of dying during the following eight years. Those numbers make sense, given running's effect on fitness."
