Top 25 Best High-End Quiet Luxury Brands & Suppliers
"Simplicity is the key note of all true elegance." - Coco Chanel (1883-1971).
QUIET LUXURY is a lifestyle characterized by understated elegance and refined consumption, emphasizing exclusivity and discerning taste without overt displays of wealth. Other terms related to the concept include stealth wealth, old money aesthetic, or silent luxury.
Quiet luxury is characterized by understated design, high-quality materials, and timeless styling, while avoiding conspicuous logos, flashy elements, or other overt markers of economic status. The aesthetic emphasizes muted colours, craftsmanship, and refined materials, expressing luxury through subtle sophistication rather than overt branding or displays of wealth.
Although the concepts of quiet luxury and stealth wealth have been equated, there may be differences in usage. While stealth wealth connotes hiding wealth, quiet luxury connotes subtly signalling wealth.
Quiet luxury items generally focus more on the customer's needs and are intended to remain relevant for as long as possible. Emphasis on quality tends to make them more sustainable, encouraging thoughtful purchasing and investment in long-lasting pieces rather than following transient fashion cycles. While this approach might seem less profitable - given that consumers may purchase items less frequently - it can foster long-term brand loyalty, as customers are more likely to return to trusted labels for future purchases.
The quiet luxury trend in 2023 likely arose for a number of reasons. One is due to the economic conditions following the COVID-19 pandemic when people spent more disposable income on services and less on expensive, trendy products. The fear of economic stagnation or recession influencing the trend led to it being dubbed "recessioncore". Also, the television series Succession portrayed some of the wealthiest New Yorkers wearing expensive, yet subtle pieces of fashion and has been attributed to fueling the trend. This led to the term Succession core. The Gwyneth Paltrow civil court case in March 2023 in Utah also contributed to the trend, as her wardrobe reflected the concept as well. By January 2024, the trend was considered outdated as the 2024 Paris Fashion Week featured styles with more flair.
Brands with the quiet luxury aesthetic include Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli, Zegna, Hermès, Brioni, Canali, Cesare Attolini, Bottega Veneta, The Row, Valextra, and Celine under Phoebe Philo. Fashion designers Jil Sander and Giorgio Armani have also been cited as precursors to the aesthetic, particularly through their minimalist and understated designs in the 1980s and 1990s. The related concepts of stealth wealth and old money style are often associated with Savile Row tailoring and heritage luxury brands, including John Lobb, Turnbull & Asser, Anderson & Sheppard, Huntsman, and Purdey. These brands are characterized by their focus on the quality of materials and construction, a classic style designed to be timeless and resistant to fleeting trends, the absence of prominent logos, and exclusivity through premium pricing.
STEALTH WEALTH: Monetary wealth that its owner keeps secret or discreet, rather than flaunting it; quiet luxury; as a fashion style, preferring neutral colors, no visible logos and subtle finishes.
SLOW FASHION is an important concept in the sustainable fashion movement and is contemplated as the opposite of fast fashion. Slow fashion is part of the "slow movement", which advocates for a system of clothing and apparel manufacture that is respectful to people, the environment, and animals. Contrary to fast fashion industrial practices, slow fashion involves local artisans and the use of eco-friendly materials.
The slow fashion or conscious fashion movement has risen in opposition to fast fashion, taking issue with responsibility for pollution (both in the production of clothes and in the decay of synthetic fabrics), poor workmanship, and emphasis on very brief trends over classic style.
In the rise of slow fashion, emphasis has been given to quality clothing that is more enduring.

- Turnbull & Asser - since 1885. British male luxury clothing retailer. The company was established in 1885 and currently has its flagship store on Jermyn Street in the St James's area of London and its bespoke store around the corner on Bury Street. In addition to the two London stores, the company has a shop in New York City. Turnbull & Asser advertises its Classic T&A collar, a semi-spread with a deep point and an outward flare designed to curve over the collar bone, as its signature style. They also emphasize a three-button cuff style as a staple in their ready-to-wear line. Charles III has been purchasing shirts from Turnbull & Asser since his youth. When, in 1980, the then Prince of Wales was granted the power of bestowing royal warrants, his first issue was granted to Turnbull & Asser. He also wears Turnbull & Asser suits. 'We have five core values at the heart of our business. Being Family-run, the longstanding relationship with our staff members, suppliers and customers is of utmost importance. Integrity, Creativity and Quality encapsulates our products - from ensuring an unrivalled level of craftsmanship to innovative design which adheres to the needs of our ever-growing audience. The fifth core value centres around our stance on Sustainability, with an aim to minimise our long-term environmental footprint. A Turnbull & Asser shirt is made from 34 individual pieces of fine cloth and iridescent mother-of-pearl buttons per your preference. Rigorous quality checks are carried out at all stages of the manufacturing process to ensure the finished product is of the highest possible quality. Our ties are unlike any other. Formed from three sections - the blade, gusset and under end, each woven tie is slipped by hand using bonded thread by our skilled sewers in our Gloucester workrooms. We offer ready-to-wear and Made to Measure services in-store and online, as well as the Bespoke shirt experience at our Bury Street and New York flagship. The long-standing staff members provide an unparalleled personal service, which we have maintained since our flagship store doors opened over 100 years ago.'
- Valextra - since 1937. Italian brand of luxury leather goods and accessories based in Milan, Italy. The name is a portmanteau of "Valigia", the Italian word for suitcase, and "extra". Each Valextra piece is made in Italy. Most of its pieces are made from soft-grained Martellato calfskin or the newer smooth Parigi leather (a smooth, semi-matte material), and lined in velvety suede. Almost every bag is produced with white leather lining on the inside. The collections include neutral as well as bright colours. Each piece is characterised by distinctive details such as the hand-finished black Costa lacquered edge, engineered closures, metallic details. A logo and unique serial number embossed inside the bag, and a monogramming service is available upon request. Each bag bears the individual artisan number of the craftsperson who oversaw its creation. Valextra does not make logo-pattern products, the logo is kept exclusively on the inside of their pieces. The company also offers a service to create custom luggage and handbags to the customer's specification. 'Inspired by the art of observation, energised by engineering beauty and forever existing in the present continuous, Valextra is a sum of its details. Our new interactive encyclopedia delves into the codes, icons, signature leather, our patents to our provenance, onversations and icons that make Valextra inimitable - one close-up at a time.'
